Day of the Dead - Celebration on November 4th, 2023
Celebrate the Day of the Dead in the Land of the Skulls. Participating businesses will be displaying altars celebrating the lives of those who have passed on but are with us in heart and spirit on the Day of the Dead. Join them in the Community Park on Algiers to shop a curated group of artisan vendors, paint your face, grab a drink or something to eat, enjoy traditional entertainment, and visit our community ofrenda.
You can purchase food & drinks in the Park that will benefit the Murphys Community Club which is responsible for maintaining and improving its lovely park along the creek. The Park will also be the location of our Community Altar where everyone is welcome to contribute a remembrance of a loved one. They will end the event with a blessing and ritual burning of any items left at the altar at the end of the day.
They encourage you to dress in your best Catrin & Katrina attire. While they are not sure if there will be a formal contest this year, keep watching for and acknowledging the best of the best throughout the day. Visit www.visitmurphys.com for more information.
