Welcome to Grass Valley
When traveling along on Highway 49 from Auburn, you will come to Grass Valley, California. There are still treasures if you dig into the cluster of Victorian and art-deco buildings, some great independent boutiques, art galleries, cafes, and a few surprisingly unique travins and wine tasting locations.
On the town's outskirts are some of the state's oldest shaft mines. Being the first to exploit lode-mining (tunneling to find veins of gold in hard rock) rather than placer techniques (sifting debris carried by waterways), these were among the most profitable claims.

We will be open June 17th
The Art Works Gallery will be open on June 17th from 11 am to 3 pm on Wednesday through sunday. Starting in July, the gallery will expand their hours to include Saturday and Sundays for 11 am to 5 pm.
